Wheel Balancing using the CenTor Plate by Vibration Solutions. |
|||||
Wheels are made of thin steel or alloy, which flex as the lug nuts are tighten down and the wheel is mounted on the vehicle. It is vital to replicate this on the wheel balancer. Not doing so, will usually cause the balancer to call for the placement of the weight in the wrong location. The accuracy of the balancer itself has nothing to do with this issue, as no balancer can accurately pre-determine how the wheel is mounted onto the hub/shaft. As much as 140 degrees weight placement inaccuracy has been verified on light trucks when using a cone by itself. This will cause a significant amount of |

vibration and a shaking steering wheel, when driven a 70-100km/h (45-60 mph). At double that speed the vibration will be four times stronger. Correct and even torque is directly proportional to the length tolerance of the CenTor ™ Stud as well as the Flatness of the CenTor™ Plate. One look at the front face of the CenTor™ Plate gives away our obsession with accuracy. The CenTor™ Studs have an average length tolerance of just ± 6 µm (0.000236”). |

What is Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD)? |

What is PVD? • The simplest way to explain the technology of PVD is that it is a new chrome process that also has a clear coat baked on top of the chrome. The PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition; we deposit a Chrome, Nickel Chrome coating onto our wheels in an extremely thin layer (100,000 times thinner than a human hair) so we do not add any additional weight to the wheel. This process is also 100% environmentally Green, unlike chrome plating which has one of the worst by-products that is put into our environment. |

• Our PVD chrome wheels are warranted for 5 years from the purchase date against adhesion defects.

Environmentally Friendly Wheels
PVD Wheels Uses A Process That is Eco Friendly . This process is also much more durable than traditional Hexavalent chrome plating that may peel or pit in a short period of time. The Wheels are Warranted For 5 Years Against Pitting and Pealing.
PVD coated wheels have exceptional properties, such as:
- A powder coated finish that is resistant to high temperatures, salt water corrosion, pitting, peeling or rusting.
- One quarter the weight of traditional electroplated chrome
- OEM approved & tested. The PVD process has passed all OEM corrosion resistance and durability tests. Superior to chrome plating in withstanding coastal climates and salted winter roads
- Environmentally friendly process. The Patented PVD finish and its manufacturing process are environmentally friendly, producing zero toxic waste.
- Easy maintenance with soap & water.
- Unlike traditional chroming, does not cause hydrogen embrittlement (weakening of alloy wheel)
- Available in both regular & black chrome
